Once upom a time in China, this guy, Qu Yuan, he is once an important minister during the "CHU empire". He loved his country very much. Unfortunately, in one incident, his Majesty did not take Qu Yuan's advise and got himself in the hand of their enemies which lead him to death.

Looking the empire dying, Qu Yuan is sad and angry. In the end he threw himself into the river named, Puo Luo by grabbing a big rock with him.

The villagers do loved him so much until they dump the "zhong zi" which is made of rice and wrapped with bamboo leaves. They believe that this would stop the fish in the river from eating Qu Yuan's body.
And even some villagers boat them self to the middle of the river and played the drum loudly.
